First issue 1949 Marlin Mod. 336 deluxe

In 1948 Marlin was preparing to issue their new model 336 rifles. By 1949 their special 336 deluxe rifle was in stores. These rifles features included hand checkered stock and forend, upgraded deluxe wood, and a sling. This rifle has the propper 336-----A barrel markings for that year and no white spacer ahead of the butplate. A short time later Marlin changed the stock design and barrel makings. One of the photos will show a buff mark on the upper tang bluing. Other than that the bluing and stock finish are outstanding. 30-30 cal. In my 55 years of collecting this is the only 1949 I've run across, but it is time for me to pass it on to another collector. FFL or C&R needed. $1825 Cahsiers check. Shipping and Ins. $65
