With late collectyions coming in offered her for sale and just acquired along with a fine collection of firearms is a classic “plinker” Marlin Model 60 .22lr SEMI-AUTO CARBINE.
The Marlin Model 60 is a .22 Long Rifle semi-automatic rimfire rifle that Marlin originally introduced in 1960 right here in New Haven, Connecticut just 17 miles away from our retail shop and gallery in Southport, CT.
 It became extremely popular because it’s reliable, accurate, affordable, and easy to shoot — making it a favorite for plinking, small-game hunting, and target practice. Over 11 million have been made since its introduction.
Key features include:

• Caliber: .22 LR rimfire
• Semi-automatic blowback action
• Micro-Groove® rifled barrel for improved accuracy
• Tubular magazine
• Cross-bolt safety and receiver grooved for optic mounts
• Hardwood stock (often with a Monte Carlo comb)

?? Mayfield, Kentucky Production
For much of its long life, the Model 60 was manufactured in the United States.

• Originally made by Marlin Firearms Company in North Haven, Connecticut. After Remington Arms acquired Marlin in the mid-2000s, production moved to Mayfield, Kentucky for a period. Later, manufacturing transitioned again to Remington’s facility in Huntsville, Alabama, and production of the Model 60 ended with the Remington Marlin closure.

This specimen was made during the Remington era (post-2007) when production was taking place in Mayfield. These Kentucky-made Model 60s are still the same basic rifle design as earlier Connecticut production — just from a different facility.
This specimen. Serial number MM682826 is all original and appears in UNFIRED condition. It was stored in a gun safe for years since inception so it does not have a box. Other than that like new and in STAINLESS FINISH it is very attractive and should make a great holiday gift for anyone-even yourself.
