A nice original Marlin 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine in .44-40 caliber with an excellent bright shiny bore, original saddle ring ladder rear sight, etc. Forearm has a unique swivel base mounted forward of the forearm band (never seen that before). Firing Pin Assembly is missing in this carbine - no doubt removed at one time to make the gun safe, but parts are readily available for restoration. These carbines are rare and especially so with a very good or excellent condition bore such as this one has. Serial range 147xxx makes it an antique with no ffl or c&r dealer required to receive the carbine.
