Marlin 1895 / Wild West Guns custom Guide Gun

Description:
This is a custom Marlin 1895 rifle by Wild West Guns of Ankorage Alaska. They are known for their short Guide guns they make for bush pilots and hunting guides in Alaska looking for the most compact yet powerful rifle for defense against big bears. This rifle has been completely gone over with their superb action job, Grizzly extractor, new trigger, barrel shortened to 16.5" and ported, matte black finish, Wild West Guns tactical ghost rear sight and red fiber optic front sight, and finally chambered to accept their .457 Magnum cartridge. This cartridge is about 3/16" longer than a normal 45/70 and thicker at the base for the higher preasures. Velocities can be pushed up beyond normal 45/70 velocities. You can still shoot regular 45/70 cartridges in this rifle. Load data is available on their for the 457 Wild West Magnum. 50 .457 Magnum cases are included, some already loaded with Swift 350 grain Aframe bullets which shoot very well in this gun.The wood stock has been hydro dipped in Easton advantage camo and an Accu-Riser cheek pad installed. The rifle has been fitted with a XS lever scout scope rail and a Burris 2x7 pistol scope. This gun has been hunted with on a trip to Africa where it was used to take 7 plains game animals and never used again. It is in like new condition.
