Marlin 39A .22 Rifle - PRE-WAR, 1940, NEAR NEW CONDITION, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Marlin, Year 1940, .22 S/L/LR, 6lbs 8oz Serial Number: B2865 It is nice to know that there are still fantastic, collectible, investment quality rifles out there that are affordable. The little .22 rifles have a great following and are just a hoot to shoot. This little Marlin Model 39A, serial number B2865 manufactured 1940, is a gorgeous, near new little Marlin with barely a handling mark anywhere. Now I know the old adage…”if it looks too good to be true…” but once in a while it really is true. I have been evaluating the originality of guns for decades, and the case color and blue on this gun is not restored. It has very little wear at the muzzle, about 97% vivid factory case color, 99% factory barrel blue, perfect screws and bore. Vintage Firearms, Inc. had this gun in our shop about 10 years ago to restore the wood. The varnish type finish was flaking and looked bad on such a high condition rifle, so we did a hand-rubbed Truoil finish on the wood and it still looks new without any use marks since then. This is really a gorgeous rifle. The gun is mechanically excellent and ready to plink or take out for small game hunting. The Marlin 39A is a continuation of the Marlin Model 1897 that was in production in one form or another from 1897 to 1988. This gun must have sat in a safe somewhere, as it is a real find! Just look at the photos and details of the gun and you will agree. There are other Model 39A guns offered for sale, so why buy this one? The answer is that we show you the gun in extreme detail, so you know what you are buying. The professional photography, full measurements, and our long reputation selling fine gun will ensure you will get a gun of true value without anything being hidden by the seller. We have priced this gun to sell, so please call us right away if you want to own this fine Marlin. Thanks for looking!
