Description:
A 1961 (JM) Marlin 39A Golden Mountie in 22 S/L./LR with a 20" barrel. This example is a "U" prefix that was manufactured in 9161. The serial number is "U11313". The top of the 20" round barrel is marked "The Marlin Firearms Co. North Haven. Conn. U.S.A. / CAL. 22 S. L. & L.R. MICRO-GROOVE BARREL", "ORIGINAL GOLDEN 39-A Mountie" with "JM" in an oval at the rear of the right side. The front sight is a hooded beaded blade, dovetailed to a serrated, ramped base that is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a "U" notched leaf and elevator assembly, which is dovetailed onto the barrel. The stock set is a two piece smooth walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, checkered black hard rubber Marlin buttplate, and sling swivels front and rear. The Marlin "bullseye" remains intact . This Marlin remains in great condition, but does have a few minor storage marks in the stock. No box. .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle
