The Model 1894 originally featured a number of design improvements over the older Model 1889 that included a one-piece trigger and two-piece firing pin to prevent misfires. Now Marlin is reviving these classic rifles with modern reproductions that take advantage of today‚s manufacturing techniques, incorporating CNC machined alloy steel construction in the receiver, lever and trigger guard plate along with a cold hammer forged barrel for exceptional performance and durability.

These custom edition models have been modified by Mad Pig Customs and feature a Midwest Industries handguard and buttstock, and Mad Pig Customs grip inserts, custom lever loop and trigger guard, and enlarged takedown screw. The Midwest Industries handguard features a full M-LOK interface along with a flat-top Picatinny rail for optics while the buttstock features a skeletonized design with an adjustable cheek riser. This model is chambered in .357 Magnum and has an 8-round capacity. It is compatible with .38 Special ammunition.
