MARLIN MODEL 1895 45-70 LEVER ACTION RIFLE
Description: Marlin Model 1895 made in 1975 in the hard-hitting 45-70 Government caliber. Walnut stocks, blued finish, hard plastic Marlin logo butt plate, straight grip with bullseye in toe line, 2/3 mag, 22" round barrel, lever action, blued trigger, sling swivels added, ready for the hunting woods this fall from deer up to moose and bear. Stocks show scratches and marks from prior use. Bluing for the most part is excellent except for some finish loss on the barrel - not sure what it's from as it's not pitted, so maybe just some kind of chemical was spilled on it? Cosmetic only and won't harm function. Bore is mint and action is smooth/strong with a properly working half cock safety. "JM" marked barrel. Receiver factory drilled and tapped for both a side peep and a top-mounted scope. Original front and rear open sights are intact. Barrel is not marked "Micro-Groove" so this one has the cut Ballard-type rifling. Please have a gunsmith check it over before firing.
