Description:
Marlin 1897 manufactured in 1997 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Marlin Firearms. This example features a 24" blued 1/2 octagon 1/2 round barrel with 3/4 length magazine tube. Rear adjustable semi-buckhorn sight with white diamond insert and front blade with brass bead. Top of the barrel is stamped "1897 CENTURY LIMITED" with "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN. CT. USA." and "** CAL. 22 S. L. & LR. MICRO-GROOVE BARREL **". Blued receiver with matte top, stamped "MARLIN SAFETY". Left side of the receiver features a gold fox in a gold circle surrounded by floral scroll engraving. The right side of the receiver features gold lettering "1897 - Century Limited - 1997" above a gold portrait of John M. Marlin in a gold circle centered in a banner of gold lettering "ONE HUNDRED YEARS", all surrounded by floral scroll engraving. The stock is satin walnut with a pistol grip and diamond centered checkering. Matching forearm with large diamond centered checkering. A factory checkered synthetic Marlin butt plate. Comes in the original box with factory paperwork. .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle
