Description:
Marlin model 322 222 Remington. These rifles were produced with a Sako action and a heavy varmit style barrel. They were manufactured between 1954-1958 with fewer than 6000 produced. This rifle serial numbered 22071 was made in 1956. It comes with a period correct Bushnell Scope Chief 4 power scope in excellent condition. This rifle belonged to my very close cousins Grandfather. Which was passed down to my cousins father and then down to him. The rifle is in excellent condition as seen in the pictures.I would rate the Blueing at 98-99%. The stock was not stripped and refinished. I lightly sanded and applied 2 more coats of 100% Tung Oil. It was not a high gloss finish. There are very few marks on this rifle. I am 74 and my cousin 72. We hunted together for years. Between us we were able to determine his Grandfather owned this rifle no later than 1959 and possibly sooner. I cleaned and polished the bolt. For a 70 year old rifle it is in very nice condition. Looking down the bore it seems very bright.
