 Scarce Vintage Marlin Glenfield 36G .30-30 Carbine
Offered here for sale and just acquired is a fine collectible Marlin lever action rifle. The Marlin Model?36G .30?30 lever-action rifle, made under the Glenfield label, with serial number AA12167— is a fine collectible indeed. Marlin's serial prefix "AA" corresponds to the year 1965, within the established Marlin dating system for mid?20th-century rifles. The Model?36G was a simplified, budget version of the Model?336, sold under the Glenfield brand. It was produced for only a short period—from 1964 to 1965  with only approximately 5,930 units of the Model?36G were built during that timeframe.
It featured basic birch-stock furniture, round 20-inch barrels, and pressed checkering to keep costs down. So this rifle was produced right at the very end of that limited run—making it relatively rare in today's market.

The Glenfield line was Marlin’s strategy for offering “good-quality” rifles to mass-market retailers (like K?Mart, Sears, etc.), using cost-saving measures like birch stocks and stamped checkering—but retaining the core Model?336 action and design reliability.Because the Model?36G was only produced for two years and in limited numbers, specimens in excellent, all-original condition are harder to find.
