PLINKER/HUNTING Squirrel/Rabbit Rifle Here Ancestry Guns presents a Modern Marlin Firearms Company Model 781 Bolt Action Rifle made circa 1976-88 in North Haven, Connecticut. The Marlin Model 781 is chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle rimfire. The 781 is fed from a fixed tube magazine and holds up to 17 rounds of .22 Long Rifle and up to 24 rounds of .22 Short. Rounds are loaded into the magazine by removing the brass inner magazine tube and dropping rounds through the loading port in the steel outer magazine tube. The Marlin 781 is an incredibly easy gun to use thanks to its simple controls and light weight. Its action is incredibly smooth and its trigger has a very light and crisp pull. The comb on the stock provides a very comfortable cheek weld when using the iron sights. The walnut stock looks nice with the deep bluing of the steel components. This gun has your classic bolt action look would be a great gun to take out for some casual afternoon plinking or even maybe a little bit of small game hunting. The overall condition is fine. Strong action. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Original blue finish. Good Bushnell Banner 4x20. Clear sight picture. Clear, crisp markings.
