Description: SPECIAL ORDER Deluxe Model 1893 MARLIN Lever Action C&R Sporting Rifle Marlin’s First Smokeless Powder Rifle Here we present a C&R Special Order J.M. Marlin Deluxe Model 1893 Rifle, made circa the early 1900s in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin Firearms was founded in the 1870s by John Marlin and was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shot rifles. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The overall condition is near fine. Original blue finish and case colors. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The front sight is absent and the rear sight is a replacement. The butt stock has nice figure and remains solid. There are two empty, threaded apertures in the top of the receiver that may once have held an alternate rear sight. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 26 inches.
