SUPER RARE
MODEL 1936 20" CARBINE IN UNCATALOGUED .38-55 CALIBER!
Description: ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE RAREST MARLINS I'VE OFFERED! THIS IS AN EARLY FIRST TYPE MODEL 1936 20" CARBINE IN UNCATALOGUED .38-55 CALIBER!! I am aware of only one other in the last decades of examining Marlins. These were never catalogued as being made in this caliber, so there can't be many out there. Not made from a left over M-93 barrel as it has the late barrel markings used on the M-1936 plus, most importantly, it has a crowned muzzle which was advertised for the Model 1936.This is the first type with a flat main spring- these don't have the "B" prefix serial number. All M-1936s are rare as after the first year, the designation was changed to M-36 and only the very first ones were made without the "B" prefix/flat spring. Great condition too, this one retains about all the deep barrel and mag. blue, exc. correct stock and forearm, fine case colored action showing gray on the bottom of the receiver and toward the bottom front on the left side, the right side colors are mixing dark but still lots of vivid color, exc. case color on the bolt and even good color remains on the upper tang and much of the lever, buckhorn and blade/bead front sight, minty bright bore, an amazing investment Marlin introduced in very limited numbers (in standard caliber) in the middle of the Great Depression and having the Model 1936 designation for only one year (and this is the earliest variation of that!). SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Marlin Model: MODEL 1936 Serial Number: 5XXX Caliber Info: .38-55 Condition: fine+-exc. Barrels: 20 |
