"Model 1871 Mauser Modified in France for Uruguay (AL5365)
Description:
"This German Model 1871 Mauser rifle was modified circa 1896 to 6.5X53,5 SR mm Daudeteau caliber by the French St. Denis arsenal. It was then sold to Uruguay. The overall length is approx. 50/75"". The approx. 31.5"" round barrel has a good bore with dark, strong rifling. All the metal has a smooth brown patina. As usual, the bolt does not match the gun as they were mixed during their alteration. The stock is good with issue dents and dings and no cracks or chips. The cleaning rod, mounted on the left side, and the swivels are present. The action functions correctly. If you collect German or South American rifles, this one is a must.
