"Peruvian M1891 “1912 Rebuild" Carbine 7.65x53mm Argentine Mauser (L2025-10969)
Description: "Serial No. 1720, rebuilt circa 1912, 23.5" round barrel. Originally produced as part of the Argentine M1891 Mauser contract, this rifle was later sold to Peru, where it was arsenal-converted into a carbine configuration in 1912. These converted carbines are sometimes referred to as “1912 Rebuilds", part of Peru’s effort to modernize its arms while reusing existing stockpiles. The barrel is marked “S.J.G." indicating it’s a new Swiss barrel. Bolt is non matching, typical for these refitted rifles. Metal finish has thinned to a light grey patina, with light surface oxidation noted throughout. The stock is solid but shows the expected field wear, including nicks, dings, and scratches from decades of service use. The action is smooth and functions correctly, Curio/Relic: Yes Price: $1,195.00 Contact Seller |
