The top of the receiver ring is stamped with the Crest of Chile. Full SN repeated on the cleaning rod, bolt handle and trigger guard with the last two numbers repeated on the floorplate, safety, and safety selector. VG- with rifle retaining the majority of the rust blued finish except in the usual contact areas, especially the floorplate and trigger guard where there is a lot of fading. The same concerns apply to the fire blued small parts that show no suggestion of enhancement. Oil darkened stock with scattered handling dings though markings remain crisp. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Comparable condition oil darkened sling. An all correct Chilean Model 1895 rifle, whose condition reflects military use, assembled in 1902.
