Description:
Standard configuration early-war Mauser K98k, made by Erma with chamber code ax/41, SN: 4761a, cal. 8mm, all visible serial numbers matching (cupped buttplate matched but marked bpr for the sub contractor Johannes Großfuß, Metall-und Lackierwaren), with laminated military stock, hooded, serrated ramp drift adjustable front sight and a tangent rear sight graded 1-20. Left side of the receiver marked with the full serial number and Mod. 98. A scattering of acceptance markings along sides of receiver, barrel, floorplate, and stock. All parts matched to the four digits of serial number, including barrel bands, tangent sight, all components of the bolt, trigger guard assembly/floorplate, and laminated stock. Cleaning rod present and unmarked. Complete with leather sling.
Condition:
VG+ original blue with sharp edge wear, thinning of the floor plate and trigger guard, and fine flecks of scattered oxidation as one might expect from a military rifle that may have seen use throughout WWII. Laminated stock in comparable condition, never sanded with raised grain, a hairline crack behind tang as carefully photographed. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. A high condition and all-matching Erma K98k rifle with an easily repairable crack in stock.
