MAUSER GEW 98 BOLT ACTION RIFLE 1917-1920 DATED SERIAL NUMBER: 9005 BARREL: 29" CALIBER: 8 X 57 JS MANUFACTURED: 1917 and reworked in 1920 at Mauser Oberndorf Germany. Import marked on right side. Metal is blue finish with standard front sight and tangent type adjustable rear sight. NON-matching serial numbers and 5 round internal magazine. Stock is hard wood as is the upper handguard. Steel butt plate is attached, and bolt take down in the stock is unmarked. Imperial proofs are present on receiver and letter S behind the rear sight. CONDITION: Metal has 60% original finish and shows wear from use, and it's age. Bore is frosted with strong rifling. Stock is very good with handling and pressure marks from use and storage. 8mm
