This Mauser 98k German military rifle was produced in 1942. The rifle's serial number is 8771. This rifle has the dou Manufacturing code which stands for Waffenwerke Brunn Bystrica In Reich Occupied Czechoslovakia. The rifle is chambered to shoot the 8m/m German service round. The bore is very good with a bright bore and clean lands. This rifle is all matched serial numbers including the bolt. The rifle is not a duffle bag cut rifle or import marked. There is signs of honest service use and wear. There is no abuse or damage to this rifle. The original bluing would rate a 75% faded bluing. The stock and handguard is made of laminated wood. The stock and handguard is in fine condition with no damage or other issues to the laminated wood.  The front sight hood is intact. This rifle has the original leather sling that is in fine serviceable condition. These middle war time produced rifles are not easy to find in all matched numbers today. Most of them saw hard use and wear. This rifle is a fine example of these mid war produced rifles! This 98k Mauser would be a very fine addition to any military collection!
