Description:
Standard configuration and all matching pre-war Mauser K98k, chamber marked S/42G (G reflecting production in 1935), SN: 354n, cal. 8mm, with correct military stock, checkered ramp drift adjustable front sight and a tangent rear sight graded 1-20. Left side of the receiver marked with the full serial number, discreet import marking, and MOD. 98. A scattering of acceptance markings along sides of receiver, barrel, floorplate, barrel bands, and stock. All parts matched to serial number 354n, including forward barrel band, tangent sight, all components of the bolt, trigger guard assembly/floorplate, stock, and even the buttplate. Solid walnut stock and forend with copious acceptances. Unit marking on the left side of disassembly disc. Correct cleaning rod and sling.
Condition:
VG+ with metal components retaining the majority of their original blue. Thinning of the trigger guard as carefully imaged. Stock retaining most of its original varnish, scattering of handling marks, no cracks. Bright bore, light erosion in groves, sharply defined lands. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the most difficult to find Mauser K98k battle rifles, this all matching and all-original Pre-War example with a "G" year code reflecting production in 1935.
