Charlie Coffin, Odessa, Texas full custom 30-06 on an Oberndorf Mauser Standard Modell action with a 23 1/2" sightless barrel with excellent bore. Reciever with extended top tang, two position side swing safety, Timney fully adjustable trigger, and lever release floorplate. Bolt and extractor both jewelled. Topped with a Denver made Burris 4x12 scope with duplex and adjustable objective in Redfield rings. Stocked in American Classic style with an excellent piece of Turkish Walnut with outstanding color and contrast. Spear point checkering pattern that wraps the forend. Two screw inletted sling swivel studs with the rear on a pedestal. Biesen steel checkered grip cap and buttplate both with engraved screws. 13 3/4" LOP 8 lb 12 oz as scoped. Mr. Coffin was a flight engineer in WW2 and flew six missions over Normandy. He was a member of the ACGG until the time of his death. His checkering and inletting are second to none. The previous owner was a friend of Mr. Coffin's and also from Odessa. A died in the wool bolt rifle crank and a shooter. This piece remains in excellent condition with the rings showing some blue wear. Bluing is otherwise at 99% Stock finish is at 97% with slight dents and dings from light hunting use.
