Davenport Mauser .500 Jeffery
Description: Sterling Davenport, Tuscon, AZ .500 Jeffery Mauser full custom built on a 1935 Chilean contract Oberndorf Mauser action with a 24" Kreiger barrel with a banded ramp front sight with flip up moon sight, partially banded slig stud, barrel recoil lug, and quarter rib styled island ramp rear sight with one standing leaf. Bore is excellent. Action features include a jeweled bolt and extractor, custom Oberndorf style bolt handle, Blackburn trigger, and Weibe drop box bottom metal with coffin straddle floorplate with trigger bow release. Stocked in a well figured piece of English Walnut with a beaded pancake cheekpiece, two screw inletted rear sling stud, two screw Fisher grip cap, double crossbolts, and an ebony forend tip. Point pattern checkering with mullered border that wraps the forend and over the top on the pistol grip. LOP is 13 3/4" over a Decelerator pad. 10lb 5oz Mr. Davenport has been both a serious hunter and a serious gunmaker. His work is beyond reproach. This gun is built Davenport tough to go the distance. It is in near new condition with a few slight handling marks. SOLD |
