The rifle is marked "PATRONE .22 LONG RIFLE" which apparently means "CARTRIDGE .22..." in German. That, along with the sights, implies that this is a Cadet Rifle, made for training purposes, probably in the schools. This is in pretty good condition, with evident blemishes that do not affect operation.
