Mauser - Werke AG 8x60 Norm Type S Sporting Carbine ca. 1940.
Based on a standard length, round top aciton w/ lever release floorplate, two triggers, original "wing" safety, and round bolt knob.
Original barrel is 19" outside the front ring w/ a banded island rear sight w/ 1-folding/1-standing/1-folding (200, 100, 300 m) leaves with "half-found" notch sight leaves and a file-cut ramp sight, original removable sight hood, and dovetailed sight blade with a round brass bead. band for stock mounted forward sling swivel. Barrel is marked 8x60 NORM.
Original full stock in the stutzen style has a standard cheekpiece, is uncapped, has a schnabel under the muzzle, and a second schnable cut just ahead of the forearm checkering. 14 1/2" LOP over a checkered hard rubber butt plate w/ the Mauser banner, a steel grip cap, and a sling swivel along the toe line.
Rifle weighs 7 lbs 4 oz and remains in excellent overall condition, has an excellent bore, and has not been drilled and tapped.
