Description:
Standard configuration Mauser 1909, Peruvian contract bolt action rifle, caliber 8mm, with drift adjustable front ramp sight and unique tangent rear sight graduated 4-20 on all three sides of the sight base. Full SN repeated on the left side of barrel, chamber, trigger guard assembly, and the stock, the last 4 digits on the bolt handle and trigger guard, the last two digits repeated on most remaining small parts. Left side of the receiver marked with the two line Mauser address referencing the manufacturer information and model. Top of receiver with the seal of Peru surmounting “MAUSER ORIGINAL.” Mauser banner logo and inspection proof on the right side of buttstock. Flat steel buttplate. Most large components are rust blued, with the receiver and bolt assembly are in-the-white, many of the small parts including the screws are fire blued. Complete with blued muzzle cap.
Condition:
VG original condition with major components retaining the majority of their original blue, most wear involving the barrel bands as carefully imaged. In-the-white parts with light staining. Fire blued parts in comparable condition showing no enhancement. Stock oil darkened with scattered handling marks. Near mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A very nice, no excuse Peruvian contract 1909 rifle made by Mauser, with all matching examples very difficult to find!
