Argentine Model 1909 Carbine by DWM
Description: Serial #B8883, 7.65mm Mauser, 22" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This carbine retains about 10% of the original blue, mostly along the barrel and a few of the protected areas around the floorplate and trigger guard. The balance of the metal has a dull pewter gray patina with thin freckling and pinprick pitting in spots. The matching numbered bolt is functional, but the safety catch was removed and never replaced at some point. The full-length stock has non-matching numbers and has numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the military oil finish. A piece of filler wood was added by the armory when the sling ring on the underside of the wrist was removed, and there is a longitudinal crack along the top of the handguard that runs forward from the rear sight base. This is a very good example of a fairly desirable Argentine Mauser carbine, and would make a great candidate for restoration. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
