Chilean Model 1895 Rifle by Loewe
Description: Serial #D4287, 7mm Mauser, 29 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very nice rifle that retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some mild fading at the muzzle, along a few of the high edges, and on some of the projections. Much of the brilliant fire blue remains on the bolt latch, and other components (including the magazine follower). The non-matching bolt likewise retains its original armory bright finish, as does the cleaning rod. The matching numbered walnut stock and handguard have minor bruises and shallow marks scattered about the original oil finish, and the Chilean cartouche on the left side of the buttstock is crisp and clear, along with a rack number in white paint: “52". A modern commercial leather sling is fitted as well. This is a fantastic example of an 1895 Chilean Mauser that rates fine plus condition overall.
