Exceptional Chilean Model 1935 Carabinero Carbine by Mauser with Three Digit Serial
Description: Serial #581, 7mm Mauser, 22" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a splendid "crossed rifles" marked carbine that retains 85-90% of the original blue finish with some silvering and gray fading at the muzzle, as well as on the exposed edges of the receiver and other furniture, most noticeably along the underside of the nosecap. The matching numbered bolt is finished in-the-white, with some very mild freckling visible in spots, and much of the original fire blue still remains on the bolt latch. All other numbers match except for the cleaning rod, and the receiver crest and Mauser banner on the bridge are all crisp and clear. A small and unobtrusive import mark is present on the underside of the barrel on the left side as well. The walnut stock and handguard are in very good-fine condition, with minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered throughout, and crisp Chilean markings on the left side of the butt. A correct Carabinero leather sling is fitted and is in very good shape, with some flaking and surface wear at the flex points. These carbines were made for the Carabineros, a mounted uniformed service that function as a national police force, but are still considered to be part of Chile’s armed forces. These carbines are quite handy and desirable, and this example is in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R; Curio/Relic: Yes Price: $1,695.00 Contact Seller |
