It is chambered in original 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm), featuring early characteristics like Weimar eagle proofs, and ramped front sights.
As with any nearly 100-year-old military piece the bore could always use a little more cleaning but it does not show any signs of pitting or rust, and certainly not signs of neglect from corrosive ammo.
All German markings are intact and none are peened or ground out. Wood is non laminate Walnut as it should be. Handguard and stock match in species and finish. Butt plate serial number matches.
This is highly collectible to collectors as a transitional piece between the G98 and full K98k production.
We find that this rifle's numbers match everywhere except the rear band. The bolt's numbers match itself.
