A very striking 1891 Mauser made by Lowe of Berlin before 1899 so no FFL required.Beautiful German craftsmanship on a military rifle. All metal parts are serial number matching and mint condition, the barrel has been shortened to 23" and crowned, a Williams ramp sight with protective hood has been added. A matching Williams rear sight has also been added to the military barrel. Sling swivels are military as is the stock and handguard. The handguard has been hand carved with oak leaves and acorns the stock has been profusely fine checkered and a scallop design has been carved in the rear behind the pistol grip on both sides. The bolt and trigger are stock military and the bolt cocks on closing.The bore is bright and shiny and is very defined. The bolt handle (round knob) has been carved with a BEAR HEAD! My engraver stated that that is very difficult to do and that alone can run from $200 to $300+! Drilled and tapped for scope and has 2 Weaver bases installed.
I must say everything on this rifle is excellent, wood, metal and work overall, the photos don't capture the feel and looks of this rifle of 120 years! Safe to shoot with modern ammunition but as always have it completely checked by a professional gunsmith before shooting!
