A really lovely example of the high quality turn of the century German manufacturing.
The gun appears to have seen little use. The chamber is blank however all the appropriate proofs and stamps are quite legible. There is at least 80% of the original blue remaining. The bulk of the loss is from edge silvering and thinning of finish on the barrel and barrel bands. The bolt assembly is in the white and just shows a few tiny patches of surface pin pricks.
The rear tangent sight is complete and works properly. All parts match including the magazine and the stock. The walnut stock and upper handguard are in great condition with no visible scratches, dings or splits and still have at least 90% of their original lacquer finish.
The missing ram rod should be easy to find. The bore does show some light even frosting, however there is still plenty of strong rifling..
Not import marked.
It should be a real blast on the range or a beauty for that Mauser collection....$249.
