What a gun, this has more matching numbers than any gun I have ever seen. Every part, the barrel, receiver bolt, bolt parts, magazine, trigger assembly, barrel bands and even the screw heads match. There are two Eagle /Swastikas, one on the barrel and one on the receiver. There are at least a dozen Eagle/WaA656 Waffenamts, all properly located. The stock has one on the side and one on the pistol grip. The butt plate is stamped with the contractor code "bpr" With an Eagle/WaA497, which is also correct. The finish is about 45-50% of the original blue. The balance is a shiny patina showing no pits or rust. The early solid wood stock retains about 75% of the original lacquer, with surprisingly few nicks and dings. The bore is gorgeous. The rifling is very sharp and bright with a just a slight hint of graying. It would be difficult to find a better one at anywhere near this price......$1695.
