Mauser K98k 8mm Mauser 23"bbl Bolt Action German WWII Service Rifle 1940mfg ***SOLD***
Description: ***SOLD*** Mauser K98k 8mm Mauser bolt action WWII German service rifle, dated to 1940. This rifle features a full length laminated hardwood stock and handguard, with a blued finish on the hardware, and the iconic Mauser-designed bolt action mechanism with internal magazine. The rifle appears to have all of its original matching parts, with matching numbers, as shown in the photos. The rifle is in good working order with a smooth action and operable trigger mechanism. The bore has some mild corrosion, with visible rifling underneath, and with some work/solvents, could become a nicer bore. The extractor and other flat springs are dispalying a red-ish tone, likely a result of the heat treating method they underwent during production. The stock has two small splits, one right behind the receiver tang, and one by the top of the butt plate, and both appear to be stable. Some evidence of finish wear and evidence of old surface rust is visible as well. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle.
