Description:
Standard configuration and all matching Mauser Portuguese Contract K98k (cal. 8mm) with hooded serrated ramp drift adjustable front sight and a tangent rear sight graded 1-20, manufactured in 1941. Left side of the receiver marked with the serial number along with the single-line manufacturer address. Top of receiver and left side of stock with the Portuguese Crest over the 1941 date. All parts matched to serial number F9142, including both barrel bands, cleaning rod, rear sight, all components of the bolt, follower, trigger guard assembly/floorplate, buttstock, and even the buttplate. Usual scattering of acceptance markings along sides of receiver, barrel, floorplate, barrel bands, and stock.
Condition:
VG+ overall with metal components retaining 90-95% bright original salt blue. Stock oil darkened with expected handling marks as one would expect from a service rifle that has seen some use. Crisply imprinted acceptance markings under pistol grip and on each side of the buttstock. Mirror-bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A wonderful, original, no-excuse, Portuguese Contract military K98k rifle made by Mauser in 1941!
