THIRD REICH German BORSIGWALDE “243” Code 1939 Dated Model 98 Rifle Mauser SCARCE German WWII Rifle w/BAYONET, SHEATH, & SLING
Description: THIRD REICH German BORSIGWALDE “243” Code 1939 Dated Model 98 Rifle Mauser SCARCE German WWII Rifle w/BAYONET, SHEATH, & SLING Here we present a C&R Third Reich German Mauser Borsigwalde “243” Code Model 98 Rifle manufactured in 1939. Mauser Borsigwalde was the Second Mauser Plant and was located in a suburb of Berlin. The date/code combination of this rifle is a very difficult one to locate and a Manufactured relatively early during the pre-World War II period of German re-armament, this Mauser 98 bears the "243" code over the "1939" date on the receiver ring, along with German Military inspection marks. Thin steel butt plate. Laminate stock. In 1898 the German Army purchased a Mauser design, the Model 98, which incorporated improvements introduced in earlier models. The weapon was originally chambered for the Patrone 88 and officially entered German service as the Gew. 98 on April 5, 1898. This remains by far the most successful of the Mauser designs, helped by the onset of two world wars that demanded vast numbers of rifles. The overall condition is very good. Armory refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The stock is solid. Numbers match on the barrel, receiver, and magazine floor plate. The sling is in nice shape. The bayonet is in near fine condition. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
