World War II Era CHINESE CONTRACT German 8mm MAUSER BANNER Model 98 Rifle
With CHINESE NATIONALIST STAR Acceptance Marks
Description: World War II Era CHINESE CONTRACT German 8mm MAUSER BANNER Model 98 Rifle With CHINESE NATIONALIST STAR Acceptance Marks Here we present a C&R Chinese Contract German Mauser Banner Model 98 Rifle manufactured circa 1935-38 in Berlin, Germany. This rifle was produced on contract for the Chinese military for use in the mid to late 1930s. These export Mausers in the K98 configuration were some of the last produced for China as Japan was putting pressure on Germany to end arms sales ahead of the Sino-Japanese conflict. The Second Sino-Japanese war broke out on July 7, 1937. The Chinese domestic rifle production was incapable of fulfilling the enormous demand of rifles as the number of fighting men in the Army was growing fast, along with many arsenals and weapons deposits had already fallen to the Japanese. China bought around 100,000 K98k rifles from Germany at the beginning years of the war years. The Chinese Nationalist Government and Germany military corporation started in 1934 when the two governments singed the HAPRO agreement. In October 1934, the HAPRO company was established to handle weapon exports to China and imports of raw materials from China. The overall condition is good. Robust action. The bore is in good shape for its age and remains lightly frosted. The stock is a replacement and it remains in fine shape. Legible markings. Mixed numbers. “CAI” import marked. The front barrel band is a little loose and easily slips over the pin. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24-1/2 inches. Caliber: 7.92mm (8mm) Mauser Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #227080 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
