"SN: 12582. Made circa 1950’s with a 24.5" barrel chambered in .224 Ackley Improved. Built on a FN Mauser action with double set triggers and a Maxwell Smith Co. G88 scope with a Redfield mount and rings. Custom walnut stock, hand checkered with carved accents. This rifle was built by F. William (Bill) Hause and P.O. Ackley, Hause did the metal work and Ackley did the wood work featuring his signature checkering pattern pictured in the book “Firearm Design & Assembly" by Monty Kennedy. Bill Hause was a student of Ackley’s at Trinidad College and worked for him for over 7 years after that. It has a good bore with strong rifling and is in very good condition with light handling marks and wear noted on the recoil pad. Comes with copies of a letter from Hause and the feature in Kennedy’s book as well as a chamber cast as little is known about this caliber. CONSIGNMENT
