Custom Mauser action .22-250 Heavy Barrel, Timney trigger
Description:
This rifle has a Mauser action stamped 1933 Fabrica Nacional de Armas Mexico DF and the Mexican seal. I believe this makes it a Model 1910. It has a 25 1/4” heavy barrel stamped 22-250, a trigger shoe and an adjustable Timney Sportsman trigger. Bore is clean and mirror shiny. Forend of the stock has a flat bottom to make a nice precision shooting rest. Stock has a couple of small gouges as shown in the photos. No maker's name on the gun, but probably built by Paul Jaeger a gunsmith in PA. History: my father had this rifle made for my older brother back in the late 60's – early 70's. My brother and I both recollect that dad said it was done by Paul Jaeger – which made sense as Jaeger had made 3 other beautiful rifles for my father by that time. Obviously, this stock is not comparable to the ones on my Dad's other Jaeger rifles – which are really works of art. My thinking is that Jaeger didn't want to stamp his name on this rifle as the stock was not made to nearly the same standards as his usual guns. At any rate this is a quality firearm whoever made it. My brother used this gun for a couple of years to shoot at woodchuck's on my Grandfather's farm in Delaware. Then he went off to college and after his military service moved out to California. So the rifle sat in my Dad's gun closet back East until I inherited it about a year ago. An Unertl 16 power target scope was mounted on the gun by Jaeger or whoever made this rifle . I have removed the Unertl and am selling it separately. Buyer pays $45.00 shipping to your FFL in a new Plano case.
