German Markings Mauser 98 Sporter 8 mm Bolt 23" Stepped Barrel Lyman Peep Sight Very Good Bore
Description: The Mauser 98 Sporter is a bolt action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm). It features a 23-inch stepped barrel and retains German markings on the left side of the receiver and bottom plate. The rifle has a blued metal finish and is configured with a Bishop Monte Carlo pistol grip stock made of smooth wood, fitted with a capped fore-end and an original black checkered Bishop butt plate. The Mauser 98 action is known for its controlled-feed bolt design and robust construction. Equipped with an adjustable Lyman rear peep sight, the rifle provides precise sight alignment for target acquisition. The bore condition is described as very good, showing strong rifling and a clean interior surface. This Mauser 98 is used and demonstrates the characteristics typical of a sporter conversion, combining the military receiver with a sporting-style stock and sight arrangement. The serial number on this rifle is 3380, consistent with markings found on the receiver. Included with the rifle are the installed Lyman rear sight and the Bishop stock components as described.
