Description: Scarce commercial sporting rifle by Mahrholdt Innsbruck of Austria based on the famed Mauser 98 action. S/N 18312 believed to be manufactured in 1959. The exceptional quality of this rifle is more reminiscent of the Pre War era of fine rifles with many deluxe features such as a half octogon matted rib barrel, horn forend tip, fairly elaborate metal engraving and stock work, jeweled action components, Oberndorf style butter knife bolt handle, and a precision double set trigger. Barrel length is 24" with an excellent bore chambered in a very popular American caliber. All mechanical functions are smooth and working properly. LOP is 14 1/8" from forward trigger.
