Post war Mauser Sporter in 8mm, with engraved receiver and bottom metal and DSTs
Description: Here is a nice and clean Mauser style sporter with engraved receiver and bottom metal. I believe this is a post war gun. It has a 13.75" length of pull. The bottom metal is not the military style with the locking screws. The DSTs woork very nicely too. It has never been drilled or tapped for a scope. The bore is very bright, in my opinion its a 9 out of 10, with great lands and grooves. The barrel measures 21" to the front of the receiver. Front sling swivel eye is mounted on the barrel. It has the island rear sight with one folding blade and one that is fixed. The front sight is the traditional german ramp. Pancake cheek piece and very nice checkering. The buttplate looks to be actual buffalo horn and the grip cap is a black plastic. The stock, based on its shape and color, reminds me of those that Edward Kettner put on his rifles in the 60's or 70s. The bolt face is very good and does not show any cratering. The caliber will have to be determined by you or your gunsmith. Highly recommend getting the chamber cast. It could be a .318 bore or a .323, and it might be an 8x57 or even an 8x60. Update: was asked today...Magazine box measures 3.31" in length. Must ship to an FFL. Credit cards need to add the 3% fee, VISA and MC are accepted. Cashiers checks and even personal checks are accepted, but no USPS money orders please. With a check, your rifle will ship when the check clears. You will also pay the actual shipping cost to your FFL dealer, via FedEx. We don’t ship via USPS. I will send you the FedEx tracking number when your item ships. If you have any questions, please let me know. Strength and Honor! SOLD |
