The Brevex true magnum length Mauser actions were built in France in the 1950's on Mauser factory machinery. Oberndorf was in the French sector and when the Allies dismantled the Mauser factory in 1946 the machinery was shipped to France. Some was sold to a Mr. Polanski, a Polish firearm factory engineer and immigrant, who built the Brevex actions. They were imported to the U.S. by Tradewinds of Tacoma, WA in the 50's and 60's. They are slightly larger than Oberndorf Mauser magnum actions with a 1.5" front receiver ring and an 8.207 receiver screw spacing.
