Description: Brevex true magnum length Mauser action with .416 Rigby bolt face and bottom metal. Receiver drilled and tapped. Non-factory action improvements include Blackburn drop box bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release, LaPour three position side swing safety, custom bolt handle, and Blackburn trigger. NOS estate find. Action is polished and ready for that special .416 rifle build. The Brevex true magnum length Mauser actions were built in France in the 1950's on Mauser factory machinery. Oberndorf was in the French sector and when the Allies dismantled the Mauser factory in 1946 the machinery was shipped to France. Some was sold to a Mr. Polanski, a Polish firearms factory engineer and post-war immigrant, who built the Brevex actions. They were imported to the U.S. in the 50's and 60's by Tradewinds of Tacoma WA. They are slightly larger than the Oberndorf Mauser magnum actions with a 1.5" front receiver ring and an 8.207" receiver screw spacing. Rarely available.
