#1127, Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London: A Mauser Action H&H Takedown Bolt Rifle in Holland's 30 Super Magnum (300 H&H) Made about 1930, 25" barrel with a band island sight with 1 standing & 1 folding rear sights, Banded front sight with a spring actuated fold over night sight, Barrel band sling eye, All H&H serial numbers match including the stock, Deep belly magazine with a hinged floorplate with a center bow release, Nitro proved at 46 Cordite & 220 grain bullet max., It has a pure classic British stock with a cheekpiece, Trap grip cap with a spare front sight, Steel crossbolt at the action recoil lug, Point pattern checkering, Sling eye on the stock, 14 1/16" L.O.P. over a 7/8" leather covered pad, It is 7 lbs. 3 oz., This gun has an excellent bore, The metal has been professionally reblacked and remains at 95%, The stock is 95% with a fresh coat of oil only without any sign of being sanded, The checkering is original and remains at 95%. The piece is cased in the absolute original takedown leather trimmed canvas trunk with 3 original labels. It comes with 2 original Export License from the Northern Rhodesia Government dated July 12, 1934. The license for this 375 H&H was for Mrs. McMartin and a 9.3 Mauser rifle for him. What a guy, the wife apparently had the better gun. This is a nice rig that remains in very solid condition.
