"Mod. 98" on left side of receiver and "Eagle/135" on right side. 24" stepped barrel(mint bore and rifling). All original sights with two leaf rear. Wetzlar Zielfernrohr 4x81 scope(perfect optics and std fine crosshairs although outside of steel tube is lacking color due to pitting from past rust). Original factory blue finish on all metal. Factory sling swivels and original period leather sling. Beautifully inletted tiger striped one piece stock with crisp checkering and cheekpiece. 14 1/4" length of pull from single trigger to Geco bakelite type buttplate, Geco (Genschow….) was one of the largest makers and distributors of sporting guns and ammo at this time. Still make ammo today. Bakelite pistol grip cap. Circa 1938-39 probably. If it were not for the "eagle/135" proof on receiver we would assume a commercial sporter but this may be and officers special order rifle with this type scope.
