1902 Swedish Mauser M96, VG Condition, All Matching, Beautiful Tiger Striped Stock!
Description: Available for Sale is a Very Good Condition and Pretty M96 SWEDISH MAUSER made by Carl Gustafs in Sweden. This rifle has the Beautiful original Walnut Tiger Striped stock and it still retains the (very early) 85 Degree Butt plate angle. Starting in 1904 going forward, the Swedish military manufacturing changed all buttplate angles to 90 Degrees. For unkonwn reasons, this particular gunstock was never switched out to the new spec of 90 Degrees.....possibly because the stock was in such nice condition throughout its life. This stock has never been sanded or refinished as evident by the sharp angles on the handgrooves as well as the rear sight slot on the handguard. Both the stock and the handguard have matching serial numbers to the rifles Receiver. (See Pics) This rifle was very well taken care of, and kept in Very Good Condition over the last 123 years! The 6.5 x 55 mm cartridge is considered one of the most accurate military calibers ever designed. The stock disc indicates the rifle has a #3 bore, and with most Swedish Mausers, their bores are typically in nice condition. This bore shows a minimal wear and does have strong lands and grooves. (See bore Pic) This rifle has a threaded muzzle that was used to attach a wooden bullet shredder for training purposes. The rifle does have two Crown arsenal stamps just behind the trigger guard indicating approval during manufacture in 1902, and likely inspected again at some point in its life in Sweden. The metal parts show strong blueing and very little wear and tear on the superb Swedish steel components. If you are looking for a truly collectible Swedish M96 rifle, this one has great condition, a beautifully figured "Tiger Striped" stock, Early Buttplate angle, and all matching serial numbers down to the Firing Pin! This M96 is in VG/Exc. condition. Leather Sling is all original and comes with an added quick detach swivel. I can only ship to the lower 48 states. Sorry, but no sales to CA. Please be sure this rifle is legal to own in your state or region before purchasing. Cannot ship to a PO Box. Shipping will be a flat $65 in the lower 48. Due to the length of rifle, the shipping costs are slightly higher when over 48" long. This rifle is eligible for C&R status if your state recognizes C&R, FFL-03. Please forward me a copy of your C&R or FFL license before receiving payment. I accept USPS Money orders and Certified checks as payment. Once payment is received, I will pack up in a Gunbox and ship to your destination via FedEx. I have great feedback on GB, so buy with confidence. Please ask any and all questions before buying. Thank You for looking!
