Offered for sale is a Chilean Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action military rifle manufactured by Ludwig Loewe & Company in Berlin, Germany.
The receiver is clearly marked “MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895” and “MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN” and retains the Chilean national crest. This full-length military rifle is chambered in 7x57mm Mauser, also known as 7mm Mauser.
The rifle features a straight bolt handle, military tangent rear sight, cleaning rod, sling swivels, full-length wood stock and an approximately 29-inch barrel. Serial number E539 is visible on the receiver, bolt and stock. These major visible numbered components appear to match.
The blued metal remains in very nice overall condition for its age, with light handling wear and minor finish loss. The wood shows scratches and service marks consistent with a military rifle of this age. The receiver markings and Chilean crest remain clear and well-defined.
