German Mauser BYF 98 Sporter 8 mm Bolt 23" Barrel Very Good Bore Stamped 44 C&R
Description: The Mauser BYF 98 Sporter is a German bolt-action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm). It features a 23-inch barrel and retains the standard Mauser 98 receiver design with military-style markings, including a “44” date stamp on the receiver ring. The rifle has been sporterized from its original military configuration and equipped with an adjustable rear Redfield peep sight for precision aiming. The finish is described as military-type, consistent with its wartime production origin. The stock is a checkered wood Monte Carlo pattern with a pistol grip and a red checkered hard rubber butt plate. The bore condition is noted as very good, showing strong rifling and good shine. This BYF 98 is used and displays the characteristics of a mid-war Mauser action, known for its robust bolt system and controlled-feed design.
