The M18 features a weatherproof synthetic stock with rubber inlays for a superior grip in wet conditions, as well as a rubber recoil pad which can be removed to store cleaning supplies in the buttstock. Like many of Mauser’s premium rifles, the M18 is outfitted with a 3-position safety: the first position locks the trigger and bolt, the second locks the trigger but allows the bolt to be opened for safely clearing the weapon, and the third position is fire. All 3 positions can be operated silently to eliminate game-spooking noise, and the safety switch itself is located in an ergonomic position. This rifle also comes equipped with swivel studs on the forend and stock for use with slings and bipods to assist in accurate long distance shooting. I discovered the barrels on the M18's are made on the same machines as the Blaser barrels. I have two other M18's in 7MM Mag and 30-06, and they are 3shot-1inch hole punchers at 100yds. Very comfortable to shoot, as well. With this 6.5 PRC you will not be tracking dead animals like with the Creedmore.
